Traigh golf course is a testing nine-hole links set in a stunning location. The course sits above gleaming white sandy beaches, and looks out westward to the legendary Small Islands of Eigg, Rum and Muck. To the north, the renowned Black and Red Cuillin mountains tower above the southern coast of the Isle of Skye. Inland, the craggy rocks of the Craig Mhor ridge tower over the wild moorland to the east of the course. The word Traigh (pronounced 'try') means 'beach' in Gaelic.
Traigh is a subtle course that rewards accurate shotmaking. Good players are made to work for their scores, and yet high handicappers are given every chance. In short, Traigh offers something for everyone, and presents the golfer with all the challenges of a classic seaside links.
It is a nine-hole course, par 68, with a tricky layout as is evident from the competitive course record of 67.
